London: Hodder and Stoughton. 1949.
A lovely copy of a classic British detective novel from 1949.
A sort of home-grown reaction to Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett, these noir adventures have a touch of Dorothy Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey and anticipate the gentlemanly aspects of James Bond, with a more ironic humor.
Book has a touch of foxing to edges only and one tiny stain to back of jacket, otherwise a good hardcover copy.
