Cecil Beaton's Japanese ** SOLD **
New York: The John Day Company, 1959.
One of Beaton's more ambitious large-format books, recording a visit to Japan in the 1950s.
His extraordinary ability to mimic other styles means he can draw and write script in a convincing Japanese manner. He also gains access to intimate moments of Japanese life, such as the theater and life of the Geishas.
This copy suffers from a speckle of foxing to some page edges, otherwise a very collectible item.
