Ronald Searle Retrospective
London: André Deutsch, 1978
A grand tour of the career of cartoonist Ronald Searle, who survived a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp as a youth and maintained a somewhat skewed notion of human nature for the rest of his life.
His fabulous creations, including his famous cats and the girls of St. Trinians, as well as the male equivalent in Nigel Molesworth, have provided a very British view of the world, along with gorgeous drawings.
Hardcover. 234 pages.
