The Passport, Revised Edition
New York: Random House, 1979.
First revised edition.
A classic collection of over 350 drawings, that can be seen as Steinberg's autobiographical reaction to America, to which he emigrated to in 1942.
The notion of fake documents, with fake seals and signatures is also a reflection of his War years, where someone's 'papers' could condemn a person to death.
This revised edition contains additional material from the period 1948 to 1954, never before published.
