London: Methuen & Co., 1985.
First edition thus.
This is actually the third issue of this intriguing fantasy, written and illustrated by Mervyn Peake in 1953, shortly after the completion of his celebrated Gormenghast trilogy.
Despite what sounds like somewhat unreal language between the characters, his descriptive powers are gorgeous and the simple drawings, in a thick ink line, are in a class of their own.
Book has slight spine lean and age tone to paper, otherwise excellent. Hardcover.
